A Proud Child of a Homosexual Couple

I'm proud of my homosexual/same-sex parents but am not so sure about the heterosexual and patriarchal society I've been brought up to.
I'm the 1st child, adopted at 6yrs and belong to a loving family with 2 parents whose love for ea other exceeds understanding; 2 bros and a sister who are all naughty and troublesome but would risk my life for.

Call us 'united nations' because of the variety of our racial backgrounds but we know WE ARE A FAMILY and THAT WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH EACH OTHER.

So what if my same-sex parents have sex with each other? They are better than the majority of heterosexual parents who are not having it with each other and thus taking their frustrations out on their children if not raping them or sleeping around with everyone at work and in their neighbourhood.

I love the opposite sex and would probably be married to someone special from the opposite sex but
I doubt I could be as proud of heterosexuals as I am of my parents and the majority of their kind.

Obviously, being gay is wrong. It's clear from intelligent design that it's wrong. And no, these aren't family's we're talking about. They're just perverts that managed to adopt some children (imagine how warped their kids will be when they grow up!). You're just another example of a liberal idiot that "doesn't get it". American values do exist, as long as real American's don't let sleezeballs such as yourself tear down everything we've worked for. That's my plan! - Gregory

Is procreation ALL you people think about? There are over 6 billion people on this planet...I hardly think the human race is in any danger of going extinct--unless we manage to bomb ourselves out of existence.

I beg to differ...there are such things as gay families. I and my spouse are a family. A gay couple with a little child are family. A lesbian couple with children is a family. Many gay people have children from previous marriages or relationships. Who on earth are you to tell them that any of them are not a family. I married in Canada, just to get away from all this nonsense. My husband and I are monogamous and probably live a more righteous life than many so-called Christian heterosexual couples. Look at the divorce rate in this country...that should tell you something.

I wish that one day--just for one day--that you would have to live without all the rights you take for granted and see how you feel. You don't even want us having our spouses with us if we fall seriously ill, nor can we even depend upon a will to let our spouses inherit our property upon death. Sure a will helps, but truly bigoted avaricious family (most of whom are so "Christian") can have a go at taking that away if they are so minded. How would one of you like to be dying and not even have the peace of knowing your loved one will be taken care of.

You people are shameful in your hate and bigotry. Pull out those Bibles that you idolize and rarely READ WITHE UNDERSTANDING! Do unto others as you would have them do unto you! - Bishop Ioan

Family comes about by way of procreation. Surely we live in a society where every man does what is right in his own eyes regardless of the consequences. Say what you will but a man with a man will never bring forth life, and woman with woman will produce the same results. This isn't hate it is truth. Although aids is a virus whichdoes not have respect of person, it doesn't come about without a cause. If we are moral in our living (lack of drugs, illicit sex [including sodomy, and licentious behavior we will not have to endure this argument. Finally, God does make himself known (that which He reveals about himself) to those who receive the life that He has arranged for them through Jesus Christ (the agnostic doesn't believe this is possible). One's decision to reject this truth does not make God's revealed will of any less effect. - T L D

A pessimist's view

It's sad that arseholes like Wildmon and Akinola have to exist. Getting these people to back down seems like an uphill struggle. By their very nature, they look at compassion and reason with the most snide, supercilious disdain. The real world isn't even the real world to them, just an extension of their personal, narcissistic "devotion" to God. Consideration for other people's lives and dignity doesn't matter, just as long as their "perfect" father loves them and their "perfect" morals.

Props to Archbishop Tutu for not listening to these vile people that he unfortunately has to work with. I do ask though what good he believes he is doing working for this organization nonetheless. I don't like to be cynical about him, for he has been far more dignified in this whole affair than that holier-than-thou coward Dr. Rowen Williams, but there's a fine line between being a solution to the problem and a part of the problem. - a guest
