I was surfing for articles about the dilapidated grid, and came across yours.  It is interesting to note in that over a year since you wrote it, no one has commented on it.  It seems our interests are elsewhere, everyone being to busy with the latest political gaffs, the latest celebrity gossip to actually be aware of some major trends and issues that could substantially affect us.

Despite a nation of very opinionated people, we seem to be scientifically illiterate and oblivious based on peoples commentary.  We have a nation of shiny new sports stadiums, but a worn out electrical grid.

If it wasn't so serious a problem, it would all be pretty funny.

BTW, I know Tverberg from the Atlanta chapter of a peak oil group.  Good info from her.
