Ignoring Criminal Activity

If Mukasey doesn't prosecute this, it won't be the first time the DOJ ignored criminal activity. DAG Holder -- a senior adviser to BARACK OBAMA-- ignored Senator from NJ Torricelli's blatant disclosure of classified information to protect the Senator from jail. DOJ Criminal Division ignored SANDY BERGER's destruction of classified documents that were at issue in the 9-11 investigation, almost sweeping the entire matter under the rug.

And, AG Gonzales, FBI Director Mueller, DNI Negroponte, and DCIA Hayden were all aware of a highly placed member of a congressional committee with troubling links with a foreign power, active involvement in a conspiracy to peddle influence on behalf of agents of a foreign power including efforts to influence the AG's charging decision, and conspiracy to extort another senior member of congress, and they all ignored the entire matter and continue to do nothing to bring that matter to justice.

So, get in line, buddy.

After all, if the POTUS needs no reason to remove a USAttorney, any reason, even a bad one, is sufficient to remove you. Plus, all police power of the US, including the prosecutorial prerogative of "career" prosecutors, is vested in the POTUS and delegated to the AG and the Department of Justice respectively and so the POTUS can order that any criminal prosecution can be stopped, if he chooses to do so. The ramifications for the POTUS are political retribution, ouster from office if an impeachable offense, and potential criminal prosecution IF he was involved in the criminal action as an initial matter. As for accountability, AG Gonzales has been removed from office. As have McNulty, Goodling, and Sampson. Iglesias' reputation has not suffered irreparably. - Truthseeker
