Humans require meat

I've heard the arguements from both sides of the issue and both have merit. The way we treat our soon to be dinners is a bit disturbing, but I can safely tell you that should the roles be reversed, those "poor animals" would have no qualms tearing your throat out and scarfing down bits of flesh while your vision goes black from loss of blood.
We humans are Omnivores plain and simple. We can eat plants and do very well for a time but humans also need meat.

Sentience

Sentience, suffering, barbarism are all human mind created labels that may or may not be absolutely good or evil.

Humans must eat to live. Regardless of philosophy, killing of life forms is involved. There is scientific research indicating that plants feel pain as well.

It is suicidal to not eat for the good of the food. - JmyBryan

Cut it anyway you like

Until we all become one mind this far reaching liberal argument will never be. Try as you might with your signs and little protests your outcry falls on deaf ears. Ethically, sure we don't do things perhaps in the way we ought to (please don't think your the one to lay it all out either ;) ). Realistically your chances for stopping this are infinitesimal. So try as you might as an individual to affect the masses, not gonna work. Question is who has the real authority? The animals? Is a pig going to ask to be slaughtered? Hope you ask to eat your plants too because if my hippie lore suffices they're sentient beings as well :D. Now don't get me wrong I don't agree with some of the stuff we do too but not like I'm in any position to have any real affect on it so instead of wasting what little time I have I'm going to eat that fucking Parmesan Veil and thank god he gave us cows (that is if I believed in god). After all if I don't eat that tasty thing the dude behind me will and I doubt he'd appreciate it nearly as much as I would. Cause I love cows, they're fun to look at and be around (perfect example of being) not to mention eat I wouldn't mind a juicy medium rare 18oz steak right now. *drools* - Farenx
