And it hurts all the worse because, like Tom, many of us are going to vote for Obama anyway, given the alternative. I guess we should be grateful that we have a candidate that will sell us out only to the Israel lobby. Clinton was a corporatist who did everything for capitalism run amok and great harm to the rest of us (NAFTA, welfare "reform" on the backs of the most vulnerable, betraying women time after time, the buddy of every rich greed merchant). I'm hearing that Obama also supports "free" trade. If so, we should have supported either Kucinich or Edwards. However, it's Obama we've got, and we will have to deal with him as forcefully as necessary. In any case, he isn't another Corporatist Clinton or McCain, who by now surely needs no tags except perhaps: Dishonest John. It's going to take a lot of citizen involvement to help turn toward what is needed by everyone who works for a living: socialism. The powers that be, across the globe, have no intention of allowing actual democracy anywhere, let alone any form of socialism. Socialism is government that works for the social good; Capitalism is government that works only for the rich. Every other major nation incorporates socialist principles into their government, as we used to before the neocons got busy. And they were damned good; brainwashed an entire population and handed everything to capitalist parasites who live off the labor of others (the rest of us). At least we have a candidate who has actually worked on behalf of working people, the poor, the needy.
