Will the Admirals and Generals stop the neocons and I*srael?

http://petras.lahaine.org

I watched General Pace twist slowly and alone in the wind when he corrected Rumsfeld on a soldier's duty to stop torture. Almost nobody who should have been there with him, Washington pundits, Congress, nor vets, had his back.

And I don't like saying this, but neither did my fellows on the web. I was screaming my head off. Couldn't believe it. But people weren't interested except maybe cynically to see what would happen to him for bucking Rumself and speaking up against torture. He was silenced because he was alone.

And I know other officers deserve more respect probably than Pace, because they didn't shut up and were forced out by Rumsfeld and his little Young Republican civilians who have been running our career military. Still, I think we owe people like General Pace better than he's gotten. - Trevelyan
