I am in the real estate industry and recently went to a meeting with representatives from HUD, Secret Service, FBI and US Attorney on mortgage fraud. The HUD presentation was pretty good, but they seemed to be just figuring out the MOs we had figured out long before. The striking thing about the meeting were the comments of the assistant US Attorney. She actually started talking about, of all things, abortion. What in the world does that have to do with mortgage fraud? It's there agenda. They could care less about enforcing against mortgage fraud to the big rich fat cat lenders who made piles of money on mortgage fraud. They are lecturing us about abortion. - a guest

if you don't believe anything Patrick Leahy says? The only Leahy quote in the whole article is:

"There is no appointed position within the Federal Government that can affect more lives in more ways than the Attorney General, and no position in the cabinet more vulnerable to politicization by one who puts ideology and politics above the law. We all look to the Attorney General to ensure even-handed law enforcement; equal justice for all; protection of our basic constitutional rights to privacy ... to safeguard our marketplace from predatory and monopolistic activities and to protect our air, water and environment."

If you think Leahy was lying about that, if you think the mission of the DOJ is NOT to provide equal justice for all, then what do you suppose the mission of DOJ actually is? Surely you have some idea, since you don't believe what Leahy said.

Tell us, please. We're dying to know. - Jimmy Montague

Well, I can't believe anything that the disgraced senator)and I use the term with disgust in his case), Leahy says.....is this the same Leahy that was thrown of the Intelligence committee for continuing to leak secret information to the media?? His is a very small mind, and worse, probably a traitor who should have been charged by the DOJ for those leaks.
Yep, to me that's where the DOJ got weak, not in the assessment by this liberal wonkette who has a law degree....and not a lick of common sense... - a guest
