The dollar-related problems have been going on for a very long time in human terms. People realized a long time ago that governments' handling of financial matters is almost always highly irresponsible, and nobody's ever been able to do anything about it. It's like we're on the edge of a precipice, and we keep getting closer to falling off, but we never actually fall off.
