Jewish anti-Semites?

Mr. Uhler writes: "But, I'm troubled by the Kaplan/Small data that shows: `Even among Jewish respondents, one sees an increase in anti-Semitic responses as the anti-Israel index increases."[p. 555] Do they really mean to suggest that, if you are a Jew and you are troubled by Israel's behavior toward the Palestinians, you're probably an anti-Semitic Jew?'"

It is clear from reading their paper that this is NOT what Kaplan/Small suggest -- continuing from Mr. Uhler's citation, the next sentences read "...but note that there are only 25 Jewish
respondents (compared to 2,970 Christians, 1,547 reporting no religion, 92 Muslims,
295 reporting “other,” and 75 who refused to state their religion). Among these
25 Jewish respondents, 13 scored 0 on the anti-Israel index (with one of these scoring
over 5 on the anti-Semitic index), 10 scored 1 on the anti-Israel index (with 2
reporting anti-Semitic leanings), and 2 scored 2 on the anti-Israel index (with 1 reporting anti-Semitic leanings)." Mr. Uhler is misrepresenting the authors. Whether he has done so intentionally or not is unclear, as this is a technical paper and I am guessing that Mr. Uhler is not well-versed in statistics. - a guest

the whining tribe

Thats what im talkin about...i will point out to you today that the world is getting pretty fed up with the the anti semitism tag that the jewish-american-british-australian-french...etc etc etc etc peope are using to tag anyone who dares to question israels policy towards the arabs. (heck even the jewish left is getting pretty sick and tired of these agents of israel or zionist agent calling them self hating jews).
If you read any of their papers like jta which does a daily report of the major stories in the jewish world, you will see that an anti semitic epithet appears against someone every single day.
It is really a shame because the majority of the jews in america have no idea what these pr^icks are doing in their name, they will one day find themselves the target of some anti semite because their brethren are fomenting the nations by always whining about some bs or another.

Anti-Semitism is used to prevent criticism of Israeli militant hegemony and US aid to Israel.

Do they really mean to suggest that, if you are a Jew and you are troubled by Israel's behavior toward the Palestinians, you're probably an anti-Semitic Jew?

Yes.

I dislike Israel's militant policies and treatment of Palestinians. I want US military aid to Israel stopped because of my opinion. Although many Jewish people support Israel's militancy and oppression of others, I do not consider them wrong because of their religion or ethnicity. Thank you for writing a clearly written article about Israel's, and some Americans, immoral use of power and how anti-Semitism is used to prevent criticism of it. - a guest
