I do not see how the USA could be in any way the 'focus' of the Jewish people. You can tell that this article was written by an American who has probably not travelled much (except for going to Israel). As a British Jew I find the above statement meaningless - I would never consider the USA to be a focus for the Jews anymore than parts of London where there are large Jewish communities.
